Today we thought we would let you know which Fringe venue we've gotten and the times and dates for our show "Sexed.” We will be performing in the International Fringe Festival in Edmonton, AB in August 2012. We’ve given you ample notice so mark your calendars, book your plane/bus tickets, gas up your car and come see Sexed!!! If you are in Edmonton already... BUY SOME TICKETS (and invite everyone you know or have ever known).
It's Wednesday here at "Sex Needs a Talking Too" and that means we head to Germany (or rather we stay in Canada and offend ALL German people). Maybe we enjoy making these videos/podcasts more than you enjoy listening to them so let us know your thoughts!
This weeks podcast... Role Playing - Cheating or Not?
Sorry for the weeklong sabbatical from the blog. Technical
difficulties! But we are back and ready for more posts and more challenges!
Today’s Vagina Voice comes from the SlutWalk in Toronto. Yes
we know the walk already happened (May 26, I believe), but we’ve been dealing
with some serious material in our rehearsals lately and the SlutWalk and other
anti-rape campaigns have provided some reassurance and inspiration.
SlutWalk Toronto began in 2011 to fight back against victim-blaming and slut-shaming
around sexual violence. The idea was sparked when a Toronto Police officer referred
to women and survivors of sexual assault as "sluts" and suggested women
'dressing like sluts' were asking for it! To learn more about SlutWalk Toronto

Below are
some commercials we thought were also fitting for this topic. Please respond
with your thoughts and other campaigns, articles, and other resources you have
come across!
We came across this article and we aren't sure what to think about it. The three of us have been brought up to believe that pulling out during sex was the absolute worst form of birth control and that if you trusted it to keep you safe you were an idiot, but recent research has shown that it might not be as bad as we were taught. This article mentions that it may be almost as effective as using a condom when used effectively. What are your thoughts? Have you found any other research or articles that might help us out?

Here is a new segment for Mondays on Sex Needs A Talking Too! We are going to profile a "Vagina Voice" (someone who is out in the world/universe talking about sex, vaginas, penises, sexual education, men/women, gay/lesbian rights, etc., etc.) If you can think of anyone you want profile just send us an email or leave a comment! They can be local, Canadian or just someone you love!
Our first "Vagina Voice" is someone you may already know... Eve Ensler. Eve Ensler is the creator of The Vagina Monologues and the founder of V-Day, a global activitist movement to end violence against women and girls. She speaks openly about women's issues, sex, violence against women, sex education, and encourages us to embrace our sexuality, whatever that may be. She is a true "Vagina Voice" and we applaud her!
